Summary: I didn’t think I was a toe sock person until I tried Injinji Trail Socks! I have rocked Darn Toughs for years, and I still have love for them, but the Injinjis are a game changer. After some nasty toe blisters on a PCT desert section hike, I knew I needed something new. Regular socks just didn’t provide enough protection with all the sand and grit getting in my shoes, even with gaiters on. Thanks Injinji for sending me a pair to try! I probably wouldn’t have done it on my own. This review is completely independent and not paid compensation. I just like the socks so much I want to share.
Pros:
- Comfort – no more toe blisters!
- Synthetic material – suitable for a wide range of conditions
- Plush features – mesh top ventilation and arch support
- Midweight cushioning – I find this to be a great sweet spot for hiking socks
Cons:
- Toe socks take longer to put on and take off – pulling all the little toes can feel tedious
- Synthetic material – I usually prefer wool or wool blend for antimicrobial properties and odor control. Injinji just introduced a new Outdoor Wool version that I’ll need to try next!
Final Reflections: Injinji Trail Midweight Crew Toe Socks have a permanent place in my quiver of outdoor apparel. I find myself turning to them for the biggest days when I absolutely need foot comfort. If I’m going for high mileage or tackling rough terrain, Injinjis are my top choice.
Injinji also offers a wide array of other style toe socks that might be better depending on your needs. I prefer crew length, but they also have mini-crew and over the calf lengths as well as women’s specific fits available in most styles. You might even go for their compression toe socks that Lotus wears exclusively.
