Collected Data and How We Use It


When visitors leave comments on, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Visitor comments are checked by Akismet, an automated anti-spam service. The Akismet privacy policy is available here: You do not have to be logged in to leave a comment. You may choose to provide your name (which will appear with your comment) as well as your email address and/or website (these will not appear to the public). The first time you leave a comment it will be pending approval. Once approved, it will appear on the Site and future comments made using the same name and email address will appear immediately. You may choose to save your name and email address using cookies (see Cookies below for more info) so you don’t have to re-enter them for every comment.

If you have a wordpress account, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are logged in. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here:

Email Subscriptions

If you register for our email newsletter, we will send you emails when new content on the Site becomes available. This newsletter service collects first names only and email addresses. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time.


If you leave a comment on the Site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies, small data files stored on your hard drive that may contain an anonymous identifier. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
