Franconia Ridge Loop is one of the most popular hiking routes in the White Mountains and for good reason. It goes over two NH 4,000 footers, Mt. Lafayette and Mt. Lincoln, and provides about two miles of above treeline hiking.
A clear and windy day on Saddleback and the Horn in Maine for 54 and 55 of the New England 67 4,000 footers!
In frost, wind, and sun, we completed a ~13 mile traverse over three 4,000 footers in Maine: Sugarloaf, Spaulding, and Abraham.
Hiking a single day Pemi Loop (31.5 mi, 9,000+ft of elevation gain) is a bucket list item for many hikers and trail runners. Backpacker Magazine labeled it as one of the toughest day hikes in the US and we tackled it in 15.5 hours!
