At a breakneck pace, we drove from Massachusetts to Nevada and back again in about 3 weeks — stopping at 8 National Parks and other landmarks and parks along the way.

Our winter hike of Mount Pierce and Mount Eisenhower in White Mountain National Forest made for a great loop including some time above treeline and literally walking in the clouds.
Hiking Mount Washington and Mount Monroe in winter was both a challenge and a joy. Mount Washington is a beast of a mountain and climbing it in winter was a goal that took plenty of training and determination to accomplish.
In less than two years, we hiked the Appalachian Mountain Club’s (AMC) list of 48 mountains above 4000 feet in New Hampshire.
While not a fan favorite, we loved this 18.5 mile hike of Owl’s Head to finish our 48 4,000 foot journey.
The Carters and Wildcats Traverse held up to its reputation: steep, rocky, and long. However, with the end of the 48 in sight, we pressed on and tackled this traverse, minus Moriah, in one day!
Hiking the Presidential Range in one day, which includes the highest peak in the northeast — Mount Washington — was a daunting feat. But, it was perhaps the best day of hiking we’ve ever experienced.
